We congratulate the AylluGene group that in the iGEM Design League 2023 competition has won the Silver Medal, which reflects the effort and work of each of its members. In addition to the Silver Medal, the team received special recognition for their outstanding collaboration. Nelzy Mendoza, a Bioengineering student, comments: “This recognition highlights our commitment to international collaboration and encourages us to continue working on strategic alliances for future projects”.

The project presented was the “Large-scale production of a synthetic pesticide called “Larvify” from the toxins of the family Cry and Cyt produced by Bacillus thuringiensis, which are effective against the larvae of the mosquito Aedes aegypti, dengue vector.
