Professional profile
Bachelor and Master of Science in Microengineering with an emphasis on Micro and Nanosystems from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne - EPFL, Switzerland, in 2003 and 2005, respectively. He obtained the degree of Doctor in Robotics Mechanics with a very honorable mention from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France in 2010, he was awarded a scholarship by the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives, France. He has participated in research projects in the field of micro robotics and optomechatronics in France, as well as in the design and manufacture of (Bio) sensors and microactuators in France and Switzerland. He is currently a senior professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology - UTEC; He also leads the Micro-BioRobotics laboratory (http://mablab.utec.edu.pe/). His research fields of interest include microrobotics, BioMechanics, BioRobotics, microfluidic applications, sensor and actuator design and manufacture, as well as automatic control. Dr. Vela serves as a reviewer for the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS).Work positions

Courses
- Dynamic: This class covers the fundamental concepts of Newtonian mechanics, including kinematics, relative motion, principles of work and energy, impulse and momentum, kinetics of rigid bodies in two and three dimensions. Students will be able to apply these concepts or principles to solve engineering problems involving rigid body dynamics.
