Professional profile
Research Professor in the area of industrial chemical engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC). Bachelor of Chemistry (PUCP, 2000), PhD in Chemistry at the University of Delaware (2004 - 2010) and post-doctorate at Harvard University (2010 - 2012). He has received multiple distinctions including the 2008 Hackley Award for excellence in research in Chemistry and the 2011 Wolf Award for best doctoral dissertation in science (both at the University of Delaware), as well as the 2009 Hoffman Award, highest honor for doctoral researchers. granted by the American Vacuum Society (AVS).Work positions
- Full Time Professor in the department of Chemical Engineering.
- Director of the Center for Research and Conservation of Heritage UTEC.
Research areas
- Extractive Metallurgy and Mineral Processing
- Characterization of materials (with emphasis on cultural property)
- Conservation of heritage
- Synthesis and scaling of nanomaterials
Courses
- Advanced Chemistry: The course is designed for the Chemical Engineering student to strengthen and broaden the base built in General Chemistry. The course will review aspects of molecular structure and chemical reactivity and then introduce quantitative aspects of reactivity (energetic , kinetics and performance).
- Applied Organic Chemistry: The course is designed for the student of the Chemical.Engineering career to apply the knowledge of General Chemistry and Advanced Chemistry to organic synthesis processes found at an industrial level. Therefore, concepts of molecular structure and chemical thermodynamics will be applied from the beginning.
